Government of Québec releases draft low-carbon fuel regulation

Advanced Biofuels Canada applauds the Government of Québec’s leadership in developing regional low carbon economy with smart, cost-effective policy tool.

VANCOUVER, CANADA, May 13, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Advanced Biofuels Canada applauds the Government of Québec’s release of a draft regulation to require increased use of low carbon fuels in the province. The release marks an important milestone in Québec’s commitment to climate action and clean energy growth.

Effective January 1, 2023, gasoline and diesel fuels distributed in Québec are to have low-carbon content of 15% and 10%, respectively, by 2030, with progressively higher inclusion rates between 2023 and 2030. Diesel pool content in 2023 will be 3%, and gasoline pool content 10% in 2023. In both pools, the low-carbon content volume requirements will be adjusted by a carbon intensity factor. Volume bonuses will be awarded if the average carbon intensity of low carbon fuels in the year is greater than 45% below the gasoline carbon intensity, or 70% below the diesel carbon intensity; in 2028, the bonus will apply after 50% and 75%, respectively. Consultation on the draft regulation closes June 26, 2021.

The ‘Regulation respecting the integration of low-carbon-intensity fuel content into gasoline and diesel fuel’ is expected to result in 2.5 MT of GHG reductions per year by 2030, and contribute to the provincial goal of reduced reliance on fossil fuel imports.

“When implemented, this regulation will realize for Québec the regional benefits of the transition to a circular bioeconomy by leveraging their existing low carbon electricity and green hydrogen development and using their abundant sustainable agricultural crops, agricultural and forestry residues, as well as urban and industrial waste streams,” said Ian Thomson, President of Advanced Biofuels Canada. “More made-in-Québec low carbon fuels can be expected.”

Advanced biofuels and renewable synthetic fuels can reduce greenhouse reductions by up to 115% below fossil fuels and can be made from a wide array of biogenic feedstocks and recurring residue and waste streams. With Quebec’s regulation, over 90% of Canadian fuel consumption will be subject to a provincial low carbon or renewable fuel standard, with biofuels supplying most of the compliance pursuant to these standards.

Advanced Biofuels Canada looks forward to working with Québec and clean fuel and climate action stakeholders to maximize this regulation’s potential for greenhouse gas reductions, cleaner urban air, and private sector investment and jobs in low carbon fuels and feedstocks.

Advanced Biofuels Canada is the national voice for producers, distributors, and technology developers of advanced biofuels. ABFC promotes the production and use of low carbon advanced biofuels in Canada, which our members supply across North America and globally. These companies have invested in processing and supply chain operations in Québec and are actively bringing to market the next generation of low carbon biofuels. Since 2005, ABFC has provided provincial and federal leadership on sound biofuels policies to expand clean energy options, achieve measurable climate action results, and stimulate new investments and clean growth. Startup Simplifies Recycling, Making it Fun and Rewarding

Our 2B0 robots provide a user experience that is not only enjoyable – it’s addictive.”

— Steve Peer

MENLO PARK, CA, USA, May 13, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — ● The 2B0 (To Be Zero) patented recycling robot uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically recognize, sort and process recyclable materials.

● Consumers can watch their recyclables being ground up, shredded and compressed inside the robot.

● Consumers are rewarded with incentives for recycling and provided with tips to change their consumption habits.

● Managing waste directly where it is generated by the consumer is called “micro-waste management”.

Too much material that can be recycled ends up in landfills. To remedy this urgent, worldwide problem, 2B0 is developing radical recycling robots for homes, offices and retail locations to make recycling simple, fun and rewarding. Consumers simply put their recyclables into the 2B0 IoT (Internet of Things) robot which uses AI to automatically recognize, sort and process the material.

Consumers watch a video screen as items are shredded, ground up and compressed for later pickup by municipalities. Consumers are provided with real-time data showing how much they are reducing their carbon footprint and are also provided with tips and incentives to change their purchasing habits.

“To Be Zero is developing a platform to manage waste where it is generated – from the consumer,” said Stephen Peer, co-founder and CTO of 2B0. “We call this process ‘micro-waste management’. Additionally, our 2B0 robots provide a user experience that is not only enjoyable – it’s addictive!” he added.

The 2B0 recycling robot reduces the need for municipalities to manually sort recyclable material. Weekly pickups can be decreased to monthly pickups which reduces costs. Additional savings are generated since the 2B0 recycling robot preprocesses recyclables and reduces the material volume (as much as 93%).

Announcing Aloha Junk Man

Aloha Junk Man Matt and Luke Honolulu

The Founders of Aloha Junk Man

Aloha Junk Man Truck Honolulu

Serving the Ohana of Oahu

This is The Story of the Ohana, the founders of Aloha Junk Man in Oahu

HONOLULU, HAWAII, UNITED STATES, May 12, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ —
There is a culture to Oahu that separates it from the States. It is an island not just miles apart by land and sea. It is the people, the Ohana, the Aloha lifestyle, that makes this Hawaiian island, a place of beauty, deeply rooted with historic stories and the modern day blend of different forms of art and business. In the daily living, from the Bay Area to New York, we get caught up in hamster wheel of life, running as quickly as we can, not stopping for moments long enough to enjoy life. We become producers instead of caretakers.

From the first time I visited Hawaii, as I got off the plane, I immediately dismissed conventional thinking and the preoccupations of work coupled with an entrenched focus on myself and what I can achieve. Instead of being fixated on the ladder I was climbing, I was now in a place that immediately calmed my spirit. The islands have a way of doing that it seems. They stop us in our tracks. And, for some of us, we are drawn back to the islands and not just as a place to see, but rather to fulfill a vision, purpose to plant our own Ohana and spread the message of Aloha.

Like many of us, Hawaii is but a season, a memory that we share with others. For me, it’s a reminiscent time in the morning alone in meditation and prayer, as I reminded there is a place where I once enjoyed the best cup of coffee. And, as much as many of us try, with our thematic art and ideas to replicate the culture of Hawaii, we never seem to bring it to life in the same way. Someday, I would love to return, and enjoy some great coffee (once again) with a couple of new friends, this time, in Kailua.

As much as I would love to share my aspirations and travels, this is not my story.

This is the story of Aloha Junk Man, two men, Matt Beasley & Luke Trefny, teaching me the true meaning of Aloha and following the Father’s heart.

As I sat in my office, I received a message from Matt. Both us having backgrounds in service companies and ministry, there was an immediate series of conversations that transpired over the course of a few weeks. Matt had a unique approach to business blending a servant’s heart for God, building a company based on generosity, giving back to those in need and a care for the island of Oahu. Here in the States, people talk about recycling and helping do their part for the environment, but Matt’s approach was different; he was not just creating a business, he was sowing seeds of service and spreading a message of Aloha through his daily work of driving a truck and collecting junk.

Matt was called to serve the island and the people of Oahu, but God had a much larger vision that just creating a job. Aloha Junk Man became not just a traditional service company, but a seed planted to grow servant-based leadership on the island and in the marketplace.
As the vision and demand grew, the Aloha Junk Man family needed to grow as well. Through a Bible study group led by Matt and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he met who would become his co-leader on creating a harvest of service and business for others in Oahu, Luke Trefny.

While Matt brought a background in biblical studies and ministry, Luke had years of experience in business and a knock at his heart from God to build something with the right alignment and guided Spirit of service and leadership. God brought these gentlemen together to take a vision that was birthed with Matt to truly be born again with a team, a family.

Today, Aloha Junk Man esteems a set of standards to serve God’s people which reflects back from their faith, integrity and consistent acts of generosity. You will find them in their trucks serving every part of the island in Pearl City, Kapolei, Kaneohe, Honolulu, Mililani and Kailua. From the military residents of Oahu to property management companies to local business owners, Aloha Junk Man is ready to serve those in need and their local community organizations such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, 808 CLEANUPS, K-Vibe and more.

Aloha Junk Man is a light that shines bright on the island showing everyone that serving God and serving in business is a ministry, a cause worth growing. Whether it is a junk removal project for your home, debris that was abandoned on the side of the road or a neighbor that needs a helping hand, just remember Aloha Junk Man Can!

“I would venture to say the common person would not think that God would call them to be a ‘junk man,’ I know it was not something I would naturally consider. However, the longer I am in business, the more convinced I am that His hand is guiding my life. I fully believe I am fulfilling the purpose He has for me on this earth. God loves the lost in every sphere of influence and He desires to raise up messengers to encounter and bring His love to them right where they are. I have come to realize that I am one of those messengers.” -Matt Beasley

Paul Klemm Takes Ownership of ReHaul

Alpha Media Group Branding Success with Paul Klemm

Paul Klemm of Carson City, NV. Entrepreneur, Counselor, Man of God

ReHaul Junk Removal. ReDuce. ReCycle. RePurpose.

The greatest thing we can teach others is how they bring value to their world.”

— Jeff Glass

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, May 12, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Paul Klemm, a high-level graduate from the Entrepreneur Mindset Program, purchased ReHaul Junk Removal from Jeff & Regina Glass.

Jeff Glass is the founder, writer and instructor of entrepreneurial classes to youth and adults of Carson City for years, and now, as his students grow up, they are branching out to run businesses of their own.

One such student is Paul Klemm, the owner of Carson City’s ReHaul.

“ReHaul started as an effort to develop a student run business from the lessons of the entrepreneur program,” said Glass.

Glass used to work as the Executive Director of Entrepreneurship for the Hop & Mae Adams Foundation in Carson City, and began teaching classes on entrepreneurship to local youth and in the region, whether through the high school, University of Reno, Western Nevada College, Juvenile Detention Services, The Boys & Girls Club and more.

Together with his wife, Regina, they came up with the idea for a junk removal company called ReHaul or “Regina’s Hauling Company.”

The idea came to fruition with two plans of action: repurposing, recycling materials, and junk removal as a means of sourcing product and supplying jobs for students and graduates.

Glass and his wife ran the business for only 18 months with plans to move from Carson City, and they still wanted to continue their efforts with teaching young entrepreneurs how to run businesses.

Klemm was one of Glass’s students from his Entrepreneur Mindset Program — a 10 week course teaching life, job and business skills — who actually took and graduated his class twice. Stud.

Klemm approached Glass and said he wanted to invest in ReHaul. Now, Klemm is the owner of ReHaul at the age of 23.

“This is really applied education,” said Glass. “School is great, education is great, but traditional education stops at third base. Bringing it home, is teaching students HOW to apply teachings, by providing value and monetizing skills.”

“ReHaul is a homegrown, organic, Carson City-born junk removal business,” said Glass. The vision for ReHaul, he said, is for it to stay local but expand into regional areas like Smith Valley, Yerington, Reno, etc.

“I first took the class when I was 17,” said Klemm. “In my second year, I was also assisting in teaching. I was working full time at Jamba Juice and because of the lessons I learned through the level one course, I was able to become general manager of my store by the time I was 18.”

By 19, he was promoted to Franchise District General Manager, running three stores, and he credits it to Glass’s courses.

“Now with ReHaul, I really want to make it a Level Two classroom for students,” said Klemm.

Klemm also works as an instructor through Glass’s courses, working with students from the Boys & Girls Club, juvenile detention, the high school and more, and offers hands-on training of the lessons he teaches with ReHaul as the base.

“One of the goals with ReHaul is to supply jobs for young men and women so they can learn to become entrepreneurs themselves, and give them a sense of direction,” said Klemm.

“We call it ‘Beyond the Classroom,’” said Glass. “They get to learn inside the class, but now here’s a classroom continuance where they actually get to learn, basically like an internship, except they’re getting paid.”

"Students learn everything from hard labor to business skills to customer service skills, sales, client interactions, and beyond," said Glass.

“The baton passes, and now he becomes the teacher,” said Glass.

"As ReHaul expands", said Klemm, "employees will be sourced from the classroom as his own form of paying it forward."

“Recycling and repurposing is a need right now and it’s a growing need, especially with a new generation coming in,” said Klemm. “I believe ReHaul is going to grow, and I would also love to pass it on to a student who could continue the dream that was once just an idea in our class.”

Klemm and Glass share a vision for ReHaul to provide value to the communities of Northern Nevada. ReHaul is a platform to make positive changes within the marketplace and the junk removal industry.

“We also see ReHaul as an effective tool to reduce recidivism, which is the tendency for offenders to re-offend, in this case, juvenile offenders,” said Klemm.

“You’d be surprised by how little time you have to commit crimes when running a business with the right values, focused on serving others rather than just yourself,” said Glass. “Really, it’s about creating avenues for self-disciplined work ethic and giving people purpose.”

Paul Klemm resides in Carson City and runs ReHaul part-time. He decided his calling was to return as a counselor in the Juvenile Justice Department.

Jeff Glass is the founder, Chief Branding Officer of Alpha Media Group based in Dallas, Texas. Alpha Media Group is a branding and marketing agency for blue collar companies and real estate agencies in the United States, Canada and Europe.

This Press Release is dedicated to the memory of Mayor Bob Crowell, "The Millennial Falcon" of Carson City. His vision for the Capital and entrepreneurship lives on from his mentorship and patriotic dedication, from serving the country to serving the city. Thousands have now benefited from the faith and investment he put into helping launch the Entrepreneur Mindset Program.

— Jonathan Mendoza

FAIRFAX , VIRGINIA, USA , May 11, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Has the hot gone out of your hot tub?

Now it is sitting empty in your yard collecting rainwater and becoming a haven for mosquitoes, frogs, spiders, and other potentially unwanted visitors.

What are the best measures to take once there is a hot tub that friends or family can no longer enjoy?

Moving a hot tub often takes more than one person, and if someone is able to find the help to move it, where are the best places to have it relocated, disposed or recycled?

Hot tub removal is best done by professionals who have experience and a team capable of moving large items with a plan for repurposing, recycling and/or disposal. Professional junk removal and moving companies are knowledgeable, licensed, and trained on how to take to disassemble, move and haul away small to large items.

Homeowners find it is worth the time savings and investment to have a hot tub removal performed by a professional removal service company. Most hot tub removal services are priced by the size of the item and how difficult it is to move it. At 911 Junk Out located in Burke, Virginia, serving Washington DC, Alexandria VA, Springfield VA, Fairfax VA (along with surrounding areas), hot tub removal and other junk removal services are made simple by text, call or booking online https://911junkout.com/. Simply fill out the online contact form on the website and upload a picture of all that needs to be removed.

Hot Tub & Spa Removal Service

The average hot tub weighs more than 500 pounds. It will take a team and some muscle to properly navigate it out to the back and/or front yard and load it into a truck. It is important to hire a licensed and insured team to protect and properly haul off all items simply and safely.

The dedicated and experienced team at 911 Junk Out are trained with proper lifting techniques and maneuvering hot tubs on a monthly basis, so there is no damage or injury. The team of hard workers know to avoid shrubbery, trees, gutters and other items during the removal process.

In some instances, the hot tub will have to be disassembled or even cut apart with the appropriate tools. As professionals, 911 Junk Out knows exactly how to dismantle the hot tub with the right tools and safety procedures.

Here is what you can do if you would like to ensure that the hot tub is ready for prompt removal. If any of these steps are missed, the staff at 911 Junk Out is happy to assist upon arrival to prepare to remove the hot tub.

1. Unplug the hot tub from the power source.
2. Ensure the water is completely drained.
3. Disassemble the spa parts like pumps and heaters if you are confident in your mechanical skills.
4. Clear an open pathway that will allow easy access to bring the hot tub to the transportation truck.

Please note: We can take the hot tub cover and donate it, or if it is in good condition, you may wish to sell it.

Do I Need to Get Rid of The Hot Tub?

When you and your family have invested a good amount in a hot tub and made lasting memories, it can be difficult to let it go. It is important to consider the cost of fixing it; aged hot tubs often lack inventory on replacement parts.

A broken or unused hot tub will often take on different roles. Hot tubs become unexpected homes to rodents, snakes and insects. Hot tubs left abandoned and unused can also be dangerous. It is important to note to never to let water sit for an extended period of time in a broken hot tub. Algae and bacteria build up inside can cause serious sickness and an unhealthy environment.

911 Junk Out is the go-to solution for all of your hot tub and junk removal needs. The company is highly rated and a long-time local, family-owned business in Virginia. Repeat customers are at the heart of the success of the company as they treat each job with safety, integrity, and a few winning smiles.

BROYHILL EXPANDS LINEUP OF REFUSE HOPPERS

Poly Refuse Container

New Poly Refuse Hopper on a UTV

4 Yard Refuse Container on Trailer

Broyhill comes through with their promise to deliver perfection

DAKOTA CITY, NE, USA, May 7, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Broyhill comes through with their promise to deliver perfection to their customers once again. This time, it is in the form of yet another entrant in solid-waste management: a 2.5 cubic yard hopper for Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs). This variant comes in addition to their popular 2 cubic yard refuse hopper.

The new hopper boasts up to a 2-to-1 patent-pending compactor system, allowing for even larger capacity. It is a water-tight, molded polyethene container with a 2 gallons per minute, 12-volt hydraulic pump system, and two-stage cylinder for easy operation.

To complement both sizes of the hopper, Broyhill offers a can tipper meeting the ANSI Z245.60-2008 TYBE B domestic two-bar specifications with a hydraulic power-pack, eliminating the need for the manual lifting of portable refuse containers. Depending upon the vehicle, the can tipper can be utilized on either the rear or the side of the hopper.

Both the 2 and 2.5 cubic yard hoppers offer a new cut-out reinforcement kit along with a hinged side door for hoppers with a manual lift. This option facilitates easier manual dumping of the portable containers. Also available is an optional trailer package.

Broyhill also offers a new, 4 cubic yard, steel-fabricated refuse hopper with a can tipper as standard equipment with an optional compactor system. This unit fits easily in the back of the 1/2- and 3/4-ton standard and short bed pickups. The company recommends using overload springs on all 1/2-ton pickups.

The 4 cubic yard hopper is operated via a 12-volt hydraulic pumping system with push-button pendant controls, and an on-board battery-charging harness. This unit is more than capable of dumping waste into a rear loader-packer, or short roll-off containers not more than 60 inches in height, unless a ramp is available.

The hydraulic can tipper is designed especially for containers meeting the ANSI Z245.60-2008 TYBE B domestic specifications. An optional trailer package also complements this unit.

Broyhill is confident that the new refuse hopper will change the landscape of solid-waste management.

Broyhill is a leading innovator in the solid-waste management sector. Aiming to bring the best designs to their customers without compromising on quality is what they’re known for. About REMADE:
Founded in 2017, REMADE is a Manufacturing USA™ Institute and public-private partnership established by the U.S. Department of Energy. REMADE is the only national institute focused entirely on the development of innovative technologies to accelerate the U.S.’s transition to a Circular Economy. In partnership with industry, academia, and national laboratories, the REMADE Institute enables early-stage applied research and development that will create jobs, dramatically reduce embodied energy and greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the supply and use of recycled materials. The cumulative, five-year embodied energy savings, greenhouse gas reduction and increase in recycled materials use expected to result from REMADE’s investment is approximately 1 Quad of energy (approximately 180 million barrels of oil per year), about 50 million metric tons of CO2equivalent greenhouse gas reduction, and more than a 40 million metric tons per year increase in the supply and use of recycled materials, respectively.
